What’s all this talk about mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a skill from the meditation tradition, which can also enhance a practice of Centering Prayer within the Christian tradition. With regular practice, mindfulness can become a valuable self-care tool enabling one to be present in the moment rather than lost in a swirl of thought, emotions, and activity. Through mindfulness, one becomes more aware of bodily sensations, and can catch self-defeating states of mind when they first begin. It is then possible to act from a place of centered awareness rather than from habitual, automatic reactions. This seven-session group includes instruction, practice, and daily exercises. Participants will learn to practice mindfulness meditation and HeartMath for emotional resilience and stress reduction.
The facilitator, Julie Collins, is the PTS Wellness Life Coach. The group will meet on campus for seven sessions beginning in October either Wednesday 4:30 – 5:30 OR Fridays, 12:45 – 1:45 — whichever time is most convenient for those who are interested. Location to be announced.
COST: Nothing!!! This training is free!!! Please contact Julie Collins directly for more information and to register: Juliecollins.firstname.lastname@example.org.
