12-Step Meetings in Princeton Area
On-Campus Twelve-Step Meetings
Al-Anon
We are blessed to have an Al-Anon group on our campus Wednesdays from 4:30 – 5:30. Al-Anon groups provide hope, strength, and healing for those who have been impacted by the addictive behavior of someone close to them. This includes substance abuse, or process addictions such as sexual compulsivity, gambling, shopaholism, overuse of the internet, or even workaholism. The emphasis in a one-hour Al-Anon meeting is not on the story of the addiction but on changing the instinctive but often unproductive and self-depleting ways we respond as family and friends. Over time, Al-Anon participants become more self-responsible, setting boundaries without making walls, finding their own voices, and giving up trying to control individuals and circumstances.
Al-Anon groups are anonymous; confidentiality is a given. Meetings focus on the 12-steps of AA and associated wisdom, and attendees have a brief opportunity to share. The group is open to members of PTS and the Princeton community. There is no fee, and no need to sign up. Come as you can. Meetings take place in the Student Government Room above the Private Dining Room in the Mackay Campus Center.
Meditation and Recovery Group
Meets Saturdays, 11:30 – 1:00 in the Student Government Room above the Private Dining Room in the Mackay Campus Center. This confidential group is for anyone suffering from addictions to substances or behaviors, and those affected by addictions. In addition to focusing on the Twelve-steps, it includes learning and practicing mindfulness meditation or centering prayer to support recovery and conscious contact with one’s higher power. Here is a flyer. Contact Peter at 609-306-5616 for more information or just come.
