The Counseling Office has offered many groups over the years focused on relationship enrichment, mindfulness training, mood and emotion management, a sampling of dialectical behavior therapy skills, men’s or women’s issues, compulsive sexual behavior, support for students of color, wellness habits, bi-vocational discernment, parenting, spirituality and creativity, anxiety, depression, procrastination, ADHD, and many other issues/concerns/affinities.
Spiritual direction and discernment groups (including Art of Discernment groups) meet every other week for six to eight sessions, and are facilitated by trained spiritual directors. More information is available on the Spiritual Direction page.
The Counseling Office also advertises Trinity Counseling Service and Specialty Provider groups available off-campus.
Students and spouses pay $10 per session for groups facilitated by Trinity Counseling Service staff, or SHBP therapists, or spiritual directors. For groups held off-campus, copayments are usually paid directly to the facilitator or to Trinity in advance. For on-campus groups, the copayments may be billed to student accounts. The comprehensive fee or SHBP cover the balance of the cost of the group; for certain groups and seminars there is no fee.
Check the calendar on the Student Counseling website or come to Templeton 301 for descriptions of offerings in a given semester. Contact the Director of Student Counseling if financial aid is needed to participate.
